On June 16, 2026, EIASM welcomed a short-term group of students focused on “The Use of Innovative Educational Technologies in Higher Education: Experiences of Czech Universities”, bringing together educators ready to modernize their teaching and research practices.

Prof. Petr Hájek, Ph.D. delivered a lecture on “AI in Higher Education”. He presented a perspective on integrating artificial intelligence into academic work. He emphasized AI’s value as a supportive assistant – warning that these tools are unreliable for sourcing literature or generating substantive text due to the risk of factual errors.

Students discovered how AI genuinely excels: analyzing uploaded documents, performing language translations, assisting with statistical computations through Python, automating data cleaning, and formatting curriculum materials like multiple-choice assessments. Prof. Hájek also showed how AI can refine writing style and generate visual data representations through precise prompting.

Participants left with concrete strategies for blending innovative tools with sound pedagogy – and a clear understanding of where human expertise remains irreplaceable, particularly in maintaining academic integrity.
