In March 2026, EIASM hosted a short-term course on “European Experience with the Fight against Financing of Terrorism in Different Industries”, where international students explored critical security challenges facing modern financial systems.

Mgr. Kristýna Houšková delivered a lecture on ESG, ISO and Governance Standards, examining Governance as the primary defense mechanism within the ESG framework against financial crime. Students explored how corporate structures and compliance mechanisms actively protect institutions from money laundering, terrorism financing and corruption threats.

The lecture highlighted European best practices including independent board structures, whistleblowing channels and ISO standardization as essential tools for maintaining organizational integrity. Participants analyzed high-risk sectors – banking, real estate and crypto assets – where strict governance oversight has become a legal necessity rather than optional practice.

It was emphasized that strong governance frameworks not only reduce regulatory risks and prevent criminal activity, but also enhance institutional reputation and attract international investment. Students discovered how transparent governance structures serve dual purposes: protecting society while strengthening competitive positioning.
